Bibliodrama involves the reenactment of biblical stories as a means of exploring personal meaning and harvesting wisdom from the ancient texts. The Bible expresses the full range of human experience such as crises in families, jealousy among siblings, communication between men and women as well as friends and enemies. It is a playful, spiritual and therapeutic approach to The Old Testament. Participants identify with biblical characters and situations that evoke contemporary dilemmas, such as justice and injustice, liberation and exile, love and betrayal, birth and death.

Biblical stories come alive through the embodied process of drama therapy that brings forth deeply personal connections. These connections become the gateway through which each group member explores his or her “personal Egypt and Promised Land”. Techniques of drama therapy can include improvisation, role-play, Playback Theatre, psychodrama, dream work, expressive arts and storytelling. No previous theatre experience necessary. Shy people are welcome! This group is open to people of all faiths including agnosticism and atheism.

Come and tap into your spontaneity and creativity as a means of finding wisdom and insight through the magnificent resource of the stories of the Bible.
