“Can We Transform Society Through Our Collective Creativity?”
Saturday and Sunday, May 14 & 15
10 am – 5 pm
926 Dwight Way, Suite 10A, Berkeley
Cost: $120*
In this workshop we will…
… create a sociometric group using doubling and role reversal…
… examine some of the common and uncommon forms of sociodrama…
… explore ways of creating and playing social roles …
… look for answers to the title question.
Sociodrama is an action approach developed by JL Moreno to engage groups and communities in the exploration of shared social issues. In a typical sociodrama, the group chooses a topic, issue or situation of mutual concern and explores it through unscripted role-playing, with the guidance of a trained director. The exploration is fluid and spontaneous and develops from the imagination, inspiration and knowledge of the group. After the exploration has ended, the group reflects on collective and personal learning gained through the action.
