Facebook Ate My Homework!
A Workshop for Teens

March 19th, 2011
11:00am-2:00pm
2436 Sacramento Street at Dwight Way
$35
Is your teen easily distracted?
Does s/he seem to get “lost” in Facebook, T.V., and texting?
Is s/he not getting the grades you know s/he could?
Do you wish s/he would spend more face-to-face time with the family?
Chances are your student is bright and wants to spend time with loved ones, but battles what
every modern teenager must: distractions! In this workshop, students will:
- Identify and learn how to manage their “distractions of choice”
- Gain concrete time management tools
- Learn how to enjoy technology without damaging their relationships or grades
- Learn how to focus and earn better grades
Students will support one another in interactive role-playing and drama therapy exercises to
explore why they avoid homework and reconnect with the importance of face-to-face
relationships. Shy students and those without theater experience are welcome.
Facilitated by Jessica Engle, MA, an experienced tutor and a Marriage Family Therapy Intern at
the Living Arts Counseling Center (www.livingartscenter.org) who is supervised by Randy McCommons, MFT #45485, RDT/BCT.
