- Do you want to know more about the developmental tasks of adolescence?
- Do you feel overwhelmed by the rapid changes in your teenager's needs, demands and behaviors?
- Are you curious about how other parents are coping?
-
Are you looking for a place to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences and get support for yourself and your family?
In this 10-week group, we will explore the core psychological tasks of the adolescent years and create strategies to help you support your teenager's healthy development. We will provide a safe and confidential space for parents to share their challenges and frustrations, get support and help, relish the joys and triumphs of parenting and investigate the meanings of difficult behaviors. In addition, we will explore ways to sustain the family values and structure while honoring the intense journey of individuation. Meetings will include a variety of activities including: brief informative talks on relevant topics, personal sharing, discussion, role-play, guided imagery, psychodrama, and expressive arts. Parents of all backgrounds and orientations welcome!
