is an expressive arts therapist as well as a certified Holotropic Breathwork practitioner. She certified from the Grof Transpersonal Training in 1993 and has facilitated groups and individuals in this approach locally and internationally. Her therapeutic work is informed by her work with traditional healers in her country Mexico as a social anthropologist, a deep understanding of the healing power of non-ordinary states of consciousness, as well the use of the creative arts as a tool for self discovery, insight and transformation. The integration of body, mind and spirit are core to her work.
Mireya has a strong interest in the integration of spiritual emergence processes, intergenerational and collective/historical trauma, and has worked towards the empowerment of women through the use of the arts. She has lead groups for women victims of domestic violence in Spanish, expressive arts groups for women of color and is very interested in the immigrant experience and multicultural understanding. She has also been a professional astrologer for the past 18 years using depth astrology as a tool for self awareness and transformation. Mireya genuinely thrives in the unknown and trusts the transformative potential of the creative process. Because she continually turns to the arts for healing in her own life, her clients find it safe to explore, uncover, and release from the depths of the psyche. In her private practice she works with adult individuals, couples, families and groups.
