In therapy, healing comes through the relationship created between therapist and client; I bring my warmth, authenticity and mindful presence to our relationship. I also bring many years of experience as a massage therapist, yoga practitioner, expressive arts and talk therapist. It is my belief that an experiential, body-based approach to therapy allows transformation to occur more quickly than talk alone. I facilitate an empowering, safe space for my clients, using movement, art, ritual, and play. This creates a potent alchemy for the transformation of pain and suffering into joy, peace and a sense of fulfillment.

I studied expressive arts therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, graduating with a master's degree in marriage and family therapy in 2006. I am a professional musician, as well as a dancer and writer. Additionally, I have studied mindfulness for many years, through yoga and meditation. All these practices help my work to be grounded in the power of action, presence, creativity, and the body. As the mother of a young child I also understand and am sensitive to the challenges of maintaining balance in your life while being a committed parent.

I specialize in working with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing:

  • Creative blocks or feeling stuck in recurrent negative patterns in their lives.
  • Transitions like divorce, remarriage and the blending of families.
  • Alternative family issues, such as lesbian and gay parenting, polyamorous families, interracial/cross-cultural couples, and single parenting by choice.
  • Pregnancy, post-partum, infertility, and parenting issues.
  • Struggles with depression, particularly if you have not found relief from traditional approaches in therapy.
  • Relationship issues, like loneliness, lack of intimacy or sex, or ongoing conflict.
  • Body-image and self-love issues, especially for women.

I am experienced at working with clients from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, those practicing polyamory and other alternative sexualities, and with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have a lifelong commitment to unlearning internal racism.

It is an honor to receive you, as you share the intimate hopes, fears, joys, and sorrows of your life – and to witness and support you as you grow and change. I look forward to our work together
