MFT Intern (#62856)

  • Are you walking through a difficult life transition?
  • Are you looking for someone to honor your rich inner life and help it to be more authentically expressed?
  • Are you asking yourself questions about your substance use or other potentially harmful patterns that you repeat over and over again?

With warmth, creativity, insight, and compassion, I can journey with you through these and other life questions, offering guidance and support. Within a safe context, we would explore the situations and experiences that cause you anxiety, anger, confusion or pain, and draw on the voice of your own inner wisdom to meet those challenges. Together we would work to "un-stick" patterns that are no longer working for you.

As a trained drama therapist, I have witnessed the power of creative expression to open up and accelerate the therapeutic process. With added proficiency in verbal therapy, I am able to provide services to individuals, couples, children and families. In addition to specializing in addiction treatment, I have a particular interest in helping clients to navigate difficult life transitions, and find an authentic and empowered mode of self-expression.

Sarah Harkness graduated from CIIS with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a concentration in Drama Therapy. She has experience working with people from many different walks of life, including those struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and past trauma. She is a registered Marriage and Family Intern (IMF #62856) and is supervised by Armand Volkas MFT, RDT/BCT, (MFT #28789).
