41B Parsons Street, near Fulton and Stanyan

San Francisco

$40 per session (must commit to full series)

  • Connect with your body
  • Share your story
  • Receive support and encouragement from other women
  • Enhance your creativity
  • Practice self-care and compassion
  • Clarify and commit to change

In this group, we'll slow down, connect with our bodies, and tune in to what each member needs.  We'll share and process any difficult thoughts or feelings that emerge, clarify therapeutic goals and strategies, and support one another in making new choices.  We'll do this in holistic and innovative ways, highlighting each member's strengths, playfulness, and creativity.  In addition to traditional talk therapy, we'll utilize such powerful tools as role play, improvisation, authentic movement, psychodrama, grounding techniques, breath work, and creative writing.  No previous drama or expressive arts experience is necessary - just curious hearts and minds.

About the Facilitator:

Jennifer Stuckert, MA, MFT Intern (#64158) - "I'm a psychotherapist, professional actor, and director.  I received my BFA in Acting from NYU and my MA in Counseling Psychology from CIIS in San Francisco.  I'm a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at the Living Arts Counseling Center, where I see individual clients and co-facilitate the Acts of Witness program: a group and individual drama therapy process that serves to develop and produce full-length autobiographical therapeutic theatre performances.  I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including: inpatient and outpatient programs for the recovery of chemical dependency and eating disorders, an inpatient psychiatric unit, and elementary schools.  I believe in the incredible resilience of the human spirit, and it's in the authentic relationship that we're able to manifest our deepest selves, and that at the heart of mental health and vitality is an ongoing practice of compassionate playfulness, brave self-expression and acceptance, and emotional and cognitive flexibility."  Jennifer Stuckert is supervised by Armand Volkas, RDT, MFT, MFC #28789.
