Amanda Gibbon, MA from California Institute for Integral Studies, and Licensed MFT  (MFC #51387) at the Living Arts Counseling Center.

I see psychotherapy as a place to tend to our personal stories in a rich and textured way so as to understand where we have come from, where we are and where we are going; the process is a way to understand oneself and gradually work towards a freer, more vibrant and connected life. The arts provide a deep way of treating issues that are difficult to put into words. I am a playwright, poet and musician and have found the arts to be a meaningful way to engage with and transform difficult experiences. I create a warm and compassionate space, am comfortable sitting with deep emotion and have experience working with trauma survivors. I have lived in a number of different cultures, deeply impacting my views on how cultural and individual stories interweave. I speak Spanish as well as some Portuguese and conversational Arabic. I can help those suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, issues around sexuality/intimacy and crises of meaning or identity.
