I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy, from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
I believe in the effectiveness of drama therapy - a practice that moves beyond talk therapy toward embodied expression, profound insight and the freedom of playful interaction. I also believe in the healing power of an authentic relationship and offer my clients an open, responsive and attentive presence. My practice incorporates humanistic, solution focused, psychodynamic and expressive arts approaches.
I have worked with children, teenagers, single adults and couples of all ages and backgrounds. I have moved clients through the muck of depression, the destructive whirl of anxiety and the painful process of trauma recognition and recovery. I have also helped families throughout the process of divorce, including work with Kids' Turn (an agency that offers psychoeducational groups for children and parents whose families are undergoing a divorce.) I have held clients through life transitions from welcoming the birth of a child to re-evaluating career or relationship choices to grieving the loss of a child, parent or part of themselves. I specialize in helping clients to face and move through such transitions with integrity and well-being.
I enjoy engaging with my clients and offer flexible, refreshing, unexpected approaches to whatever feels "stuck." |
