Maria Steinmann, MA, MFT Intern

holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology (with a concentration in Drama Therapy) from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She believes that the playful, creative process of drama therapy is powerful and more effective than "talk therapy" alone. She brings an empathic presence to her work and skillfully weaves poetry, song, dance, art and drama into her healing practice. She is also a doula (birthing coach) and is committed to the sensitive care of women as they move through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Her background as a therapist includes work with infants and young children as well as with teenagers and adults. She enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds and is sensitive to cross-cultural concerns and challenges as she has lived, worked and traveled in several countries.
