Phillip Burrill is an MFT Intern (MFTI # pending) at the California Institute of Integral Studies, in the expressive arts therapy program. He hails
from New York, where he was a writer, actor and improviser for over 9 years. As a witness to the events of 9/11, he has experienced first-hand the powerful healing and transformative effects of the arts.

I know how difficult it can be to inhabit your body and to be in the moment when you are beset by stress, grief, anxiety or depression. Through gently bringing your awareness into the moment and into your own sense of self, I offer—with compassion, non-judgment, and a sense of humor—the space to allow your authentic self to emerge. Issues of esteem and blocks to your own creativity, spontaneity, and expression can be gently worked with and transformed. The arts can be a great partner in healing; they not only shed light on the deep places within you, they can also connect you to the greater world.
